Queer Cultural Archives
Preserving our History: Permanently
The last 70 years has seen the greatest expansion of LGBTQIA+ human rights in recorded history.
Time is running out to record firsthand accounts
Queer history needs to be preserved and passed to future generations.
LGBTQIA+ history is manipulated and misrepresented by government, media, and those that seek to undermine the human rights movement.
Stories from historically peripheral communities are often silenced, diluted, and rewritten.
There is a Problem
We Will Find Solutions
Queer history demonstrates how to develop systems of
safety, dignity, and equity.
LGBTQIA+ contributions to culture and society must be recorded and recognized.
The Queer Cultural Archives will curate stories and digital artifacts from pivotal moments in LGBTQIA+ history from existing archives and directly from those who lived them.
Current and future generations will be empowered by viewing our history through the lens of those who led movements, experienced meteoric progress, and those left behind.
Curation and cataloging will be done in partnership with the myriad of existing organizations.
We will archive a holistic record that cannot be redacted or rewritten over time. Technically, this can be accomplished by leveraging cutting edge data technology.
